I use the below converter that I got from Amazaon a couple of years ago to plug into an EU outlet to give me more charging ports.  There is no surge suppressor/protection so it works fine on the shiip.  It steps down the 220v to the 110v so no issues of overcycling a 110v product (in my case a small desk/clip fan).  My wife found out it can't be used for blow dryers either.  A max of 250w

They are European outlets, but the poster was asking about UK outlets.  Not a lot of ships have UK outlets (type G), which are vastly different from the European type C/F that cruise ships use.
