sandbag7 Posted March 21 #1 Share Posted March 21 We have reserved a Cabin near the very rear of the 9th deck for the Cape Town to Rio cruise next January, with the hope of enjoying some sun on our balcony on sea days. A review on CC mentioned that their midship cabin on the 9th deck was always in the shade due to overhang from the 10th deck. Can anyone tell me if this is also a problem at the rear of the ship? If you’re in one of the sides, you’ll be under either Chartreuse or Prime 7, bu5 they should be stepped back over your balcony a bit. mrlevin Posted March 21 #3 Share Posted March 21 Cape Town to Rio port side should be in the shade and starboard side in the sun.
Chateaunole-du-pape Posted March 21 #4 Share Posted March 21 We were in 957 on Splendor last summer. Since there were no balconies above us, the overhang was shallower, and since we were between the two bump-outs of La Veranda two floors above us, we had less shelter than many of those cabins. We actually don't like the sun and were worried that we'd perhaps get too much, but it was fine. That said, if you do want sun, cabins like this are probably among your best choices.
