Magic Bands

Recommended Posts

Asking for a friend who is not on Cruise Critic.

Does Disney use the Magic Bands on their ships.  Does anyone bother with them or do you just use your room key card?

Thank you.

Some ships will be able to use your MB.  I forget which ones.  However, it's really silly since you still need your room key card for getting on/off the ship.

You can purchase a DisneyBand+ (which is the same as the MagicBand+ used in the US Disney parks) for around $35. It is now available on all 5 ships. It can be used for charges and to enter your room. At various times on the cruise, it may light up or cause things to happen around the ship.

As jalves said, you will still need a Key to the World card to reboard the ship in ports.
