Anchorages or Pierside at Ports?

We will be taking the 16 April departure on Westerdamm's repositioning cruise thru the Canal. Has anyone definitive information on whether to anticipate tendering or walk-off in the following ports: Half Moon Cay; Turks and Caicos; San Juan; Tortola; Aruba; Puntarenas; and Puerto Vallarta? Having advance knowledge would assist us in excursion selection. Also, do you normally go ashore dressed in street clothes and carrying swim togs? Are shoreside changing facilities available?

You will always tender at HMC.....the dock is only large enough for tenders and for the new large size one that has just been delivered. You will dock in San Juan and Aruba. The others I don't know about.

For HMC, almost everyone goes ashore in their swimsuit or if they don't plan to wear a swimsuit at all, they go in their shorts.

San Juan you would wear street clothes.....shorts. If you are planning to go to a beach, you probably wouldn't want to taxi in just your swim suit.

In Aruba, if going to the beach, I, personally would wear my swimsuit but with shorts.

Nice itinerary. Enjoy.

You'll dock in Tortola and Puerto Vallarta can either mean a docking or a tendering operation depending on who else in is port (we tendered there in February because the Carnival Pride and "the World" were docked).
