Can anyone comment on booking a world cruise onboard? What discounts and other perks were offered?

Specifically, we are looking at an expedition longitudinal world cruise.

We booked LWC IV while onboard.  It already includes business class air, silver beverage package, $2000 SBC up front, plus another $1000 SBC for past guests.  We received a significant reduction in base price plus the standard past guest discount.  If you're currently onboard you should ask about discount code FC524.  It was recently sent out to past Viking guests who have another cruise booked.  Gives you double past guest discount plus $1000 SBC per stateroom.  Booking onboard is also supposed to give you 100-200 SBC on your current cruise.  Good luck.

Thanks Paul73. The current promo for LWC in 2026, available now, also includes the SBC you mention.  The upcoming cruise in July will be our first Viking cruise.

I don’t think FC524 could be used on a LWC; anyway we are not past guests. Or is one considered a past guest when booking onboard one’s first Viking cruise?

From your post, it looks like the major benefit we would receive is the “significant reduction in base price”. You paid less than the online listed price? Would you please tell me in dollar or percentage terms the extent of the savings, per person? Thank you, this is very helpful in deciding whether to book now or onboard.

Kahuna21:  since you're new to Viking, you get the best price when you book onboard.

If you look at the current Viking LWC VI price, the difference between list and sale price is $4k.  Onboard Neptune we got a $4.5k price reduction plus an additional $1000 price reduction for booking onboard, plus $100 shipboard credit (all per person).  We've taken over a dozen Viking cruises and you can't get any better price than by booking with the onboard cruise consultant.  I'd be happy to continue this conversation off-line.  paulryan73atgmail

Promo FC524 does not give any SBC but does give additional savings of up to $1000 per couple, past guest discount of up to $400 per couple and the reduced $25 pp deposit.
