We visited some Croatia ports last October on Encore. Dubrovnik: just go in as early as you can. In late October, it was fine at 9 AM, but by 11 it was too packed for us so we left then. Zadar is gorgeous. We took a private tour to Plitvice Lakes NP. The two-hour ride each way was worth it, although ship time restraints only allowed us about 3 hrs there. It’s a spectacular place. Next time, we’d spend the day in beautiful Zadar.

We are going on Viking for the first time in July. We have a junior suite with a priority dining reservation time. Imagine my surprise when booking immediately when booking opened, that the earliest times were 8 pm. Good to read we should be able to fix that onboard. They must release only a small number of reservations prior to sailing. On Regent and Oceania, I’m always able to pre-book dining res and get the precise days and times that I want.

Thanks Paul73. The current promo for LWC in 2026, available now, also includes the SBC you mention. The upcoming cruise in July will be our first Viking cruise. I don’t think FC524 could be used on a LWC; anyway we are not past guests. Or is one considered a past guest when booking onboard one’s first Viking cruise? From your post, it looks like the major benefit we would receive is the “significant reduction in base price”. You paid less than the online listed price? Would you please tell me in dollar or percentage terms the extent of the savings, per person? Thank you, this is very helpful in deciding whether to book now or onboard.

Can anyone comment on booking a world cruise onboard? What discounts and other perks were offered? Specifically, we are looking at an expedition longitudinal world cruise.

OK, this sheet says they give you $100 per person onboard credit for each cruise booked. So you book a cruise with $25 deposit. You get $200 to offset drinks and gratuities on current cruise, and you “buy” that with a $50 deposit? Too good to be true. This offer must have been available only for future cruises with a higher required (non-refundable) deposit?

Wavtam….how did you save $26K? I looked at the Expedition Longitudinal World Cruise V, in 2025. Price shown with no code is identical to the price with the code, which the system accepted. I can’t see that is saves anything.

Does the glass roof over the acquavit and pool area on the expedition ships slide open and closed, similar to the ocean ships?

In the table-service restaurants, I assume the wine service is good—right? In the World Cafe lunch and dinner, is it easy to get a glass of wine brought to your table? What about a refill, or a second glass?

We are contemplating a long Viking expedition cruise in 2026 (Longitudinal World Cruise) which will be very expensive, so we are trying to get the best price we can. When would be the best time to book? 1) Now, to lock in the current price and promotion. 2) Watch and wait for a better deal. 3) Book onboard Viking in three months, July. 4) Black Friday or Wave Season. 5) Other? Thoughts from you experienced Viking cruisers? Thanks!

Thanks for that info. Another question. Between 4042 and 4044, and also 4043 and 4045, there are stairs. Are these stair corridors open to the hall, and for guest use? Or are they blocked by a wall, for crew use?

The entry to cabin 4029 on Viking Octantis (same on Polaris I believe) is directly across from stairwells. Are the stairwells open to 4029, or is there a wall facing the 4929 entry, with access to the stairs down the hall by the elevators? Thanks!

Please explain, why is the noise under the terrace cafe worse on the starboard side, compared to port?

Are the benefits identical, whether one books while on board, or instead purchases a future cruise certificate to use when booking from home?

We booked a 2025 cruise in December. Now, just three months later, the quoted price is more than 20% higher than we paid. I don’t understand what they are doing. If this continues, it will tilt our scale to Oceania.

Has anyone been able to convert from an existing O-Life booking to Simply More, without paying an additional amount to equal the newer Simply More price?

Seabourn is disingenuous regarding pricing. I’ve seen this for a few years. I’ve experienced this: book a cruise. Then shortly thereafter, SB promotes, say, a $1000 shipboard credit. But check the price, it has increased by more than $1000. So the “promotion” is a price increase. A good strategy seems to be to book ASAP after the cruise is released, then watch for a price decrease, then rebook at the lower price. This has sometimes worked for me. Seabourn sometimes has excellent discounts when booking onboard. Bigger discounts than their advertised policy.

We are about to book a cruise on Regatta, which is our first R-Class cruise. We would like a suite near the aft elevator and stairs on deck eight, but preferably offset from the elevator/stairs. Could someone describe which suite numbers open directly to the aft elevator/stair lobby? Many thanks. Also, we would appreciate input from any folks who have stayed in those suites directly on the elevator/stair lobby, regarding noise issues.

Will Aquamar kitchen on Marina replace La Reserve?
