memoak Posted May 7 #26 Share Posted May 7 1 minute ago, Muffinz said: I think part of the issue is - people have paid thousands of $ to do a cruise and paid for airfares / accommodation and the last thing they want to do is spend some / most of the cruise stuck in their stateroom because they are unwell. Common sense would tell you that if you feel unwell and have covid like symptoms you should test yourself - and if positive you should isolate in your stateroom. But I fear many would just ignore that and try to carry on as normal, going to the buffet, theatre, bars...etc... all while infecting other passengers with covid. We cancelled a cruise for February 2023 on Majestic, because it docked in Sydney (just before final payment was due) with over 800 covid cases on board. However, we're not living our lives around covid and fully intend to take out cruise in December on Crown Princess Any ship can have an outbreak of Covid and Noro. If they do they are going to have a real complete scrubbing and there is no more danger on that ship or a different one. People bring disease on board and it can happen on any ship. PR-Texas Posted May 7 #27 Share Posted May 7 We booked a balcony for our 14 day NZ cruise for 2 reasons. 1. We will have 5 sea days plus Fiordland NP and wanted to be able to enjoy watching the water and scenery from our balcony (or out the balcony doors if the weather is yucky). 2. Just in case we get sick with something whether Covid/Noro/whatever we didn't want to go nuts looking at 4 walls. We're planning to take reasonable precautions and just have fun.
