LOVED this coffee machine in the Horizon Lounge.  Killed any barista Starbucks coffee...

Looks like the same one inside the Solo Lounge and the latte was gooood, complimentary & included.

Great pictures ...

You’re right.  It is.

You were lucky to have tasted the latte at the Solo Lounge on the Prima 😉. But sadly, no Solo Lounge on the Joy.

The Solo Lounge is a great perk to have. However, the NCL world has gone insane when a Studio is more expensive than a regular Balcony...check out the Encore 12/3 sailing.

I’m beginning to think  balconies are the best values these days…

I know, beyond lucky to get private access into the Lounge last month 😂   Mine, maybe IT under AWS can straighten out those prices.

Get less for more sailing the Encore, nope ... if you are going to hit [Enter] balcony with fresh air is a better deal, more spacious, an extra specialty meal, the differential will get you 15+ venti at Starbucks onboard, or bring your own stash of favorite coffee mix (I know, it's a pain)  Surprised that they already dropped the solo supplement/penalty waived across multiple booking categories but ...

Speaking of OMG, look at next Spring's Prima TA ... as they say, forgetaboutit.  Nuts.  Like you said, deals & price drops are out there ... just have to dig and search.

@graphicguy  Haha, many of us know this, timing & flexibility are part of the combinations ... 2 CN certs, extra Latitude points doesn't hurt, DSC covered plus extra OBC from TA, and of course, NCLH benefits - modest expectations to just go with the flow.

I thought of you every time I saw this.

Will contribute more later as some of us had to work today (and flight delays didn't get me home until 11pm). Oh to be back on the Joy again!

We'd be making dinner plans right about now......;)

And now, a major thanks to @graphicguy for starting this thread, albeit weeks ahead of time. For @Sugar Magnolia not being tired of posting on Cruise Critic and showing us her 4 AM - 2 AM life. How do you do it? And, @debenson0723 - now spill the beans on how to make those magic casino games pay out!!! Thank you all - y'all helped me get through the hot and humid Central NY week. It was well worth following along on your Bermudan journey!

@cruiseny4life, I am not a big gambler at all.  I take a set amount to play with every day (about $40), with the intention of losing it all. For whatever reason, that didn't happen on this cruise. I am very conservative and not greedy and if I win $20, I walk away with it, put it in my safe and start over again with the same $40 I had before.  I know I am not going to strike it rich (though someone did win a $32,000 jackpot on the slots this cruise) but if I can  have a few hours of fun, I am happy. This time I had 2 favorite machines and they liked me. I was literally down to my last 50 cents when I won a bonus and ended up with $60 to add to my totals. It's nice walking off the ship with twice the money you walked on with...first and probably last time that will happen.

Now here's my dirty little secret...I actually went to both Wheel of Forture shows and had a blast. The theater was packed for both shows, which surprised me since everyone on this board hates it. I used $20 of my non refundable OBC to play, again knowing I wasn't going to win. I thought I did pretty good, answering one puzzle in just over 2 minutes but wow, some of the audience members were quick! Yes, I would prefer a Broadway type show but I did enjoy the interactive aspect of the game shows. Now I have been to all 3 of the game shows (Price is Right, which is free and one of my travel buddies actually won $600; Press Your Luck, which is also free and the audience members and those selected to play onstage can win some cash and prizes and now Wheel). Not for everyone but apparently there were 700+ people for each show and they seemed to be having a good time like I was.

Thank you for doing this!  I have to change my Bliss cruise in December to Joy in February.  WORK!  Oh well soon will be retired.

We are on 15 and was wondering about the Observation Lounge and the additional rooms.  We are doing an Ocean to Ocean Panama Canal and can see that it being busier.

My DH is shorts only too and we have no plans on getting dressed up so looks like plenty of options to eat and be us.

True on all counts.

That will be a very nice cruise.

I was in the Observation Lounge a couple of times.  It was never crowded.

@Sugar Magnolia was there more often, though.  If she happens by, she would probably be a better resource.

I have never been on an NCL ship that I disliked.  However, the Bliss is probably my favorite.

In retrospect, I don't think I saw one person dress up in a suit, or even a jacket, the entire time on the Joy.  Moreover, Bermuda is known for Bermuda shorts being the standard dress fare.  I get both irritated and amused by cruise lines' insistence that long pants be worn in certain establishments.  The days of "formal", "semi-formal", etc are long, long gone.  Further, there are other cruise lines that foster the "dress-up" type of restaurant environment (don't understand those, either).  Book those if it's important to you.

You must have missed the woman I saw on Tuesday night in a full length sequined gown, tiara and sash. I was trying to see what the sash said but my guess was Miss NCL 2024. If that is the case, then she is sorely mistken, as @Sugar Magnolia and I are the co-owners of that title. We are just much more discreet with our royalty status.

@graphicguy If you ever venture over to the MSC Yacht Club beware of the formal police, we tried to look the part last September but we got side glances while sitting at the bar in our Bermuda shorts, it must be the legs.

For our next venture in the YC we will better prepare, don't think I will ever make it to #3

As @graphicguy mentioned I dropped by the Observation Lounge for coffee in the morning and snacks in the afternoon almost every day and it was not crowded. However, we had terrific weather so many people spent their time either out on the pool deck, sun decks or deck 8 Waterfront. Even the thermal suite was half empty on sea days. The OL might have been more crowded if we had inclement weather. I would imagine the OL could also be crowded when transiting the Canal.

If your stateroom is on deck 15 port side forward near the OL, then it is one of the new staterooms with easy access to the OL. I was on deck 11 forward so it was easy for me to run up to the OL in the mornings to grab coffee. Starbucks is also in the OL.

Have a wonderful time on your Panama Canal cruise.

This is absolutely true. True royals do not need to flash their status or their bling. It’s so vulgar. I won’t travel with my tiara.
