Pickleball court

We will soon be going on all four Queens which we are really looking forward to.  Does anyone know whether there are any pickleball courts on any of the 4 Queens?  I love my pickleball and will pack my paddle if it can be used but don’t want to take up some of my very limited baggage weight if it can’t be used!  Any info appreciated. Thank you

We're going on the QE on 6/21 out of Vancouver. Cunard pics show a "paddle ball court"?

It's not pickleball but for nothing else it would be a place to drill while away from your regular games at home.

I'm still undecided to pack my paddles and balls.

I believe there is on Queen Anne. We did a bit of the game, which I seem to remember having "Pickleball" written on the paddles.

We're onboard again in 3 weeks. Happy to confirm then if it's before your trip and no one else has.

I'm on QM2 today, this is the facility there, on deck 13. I'm pretty sure I've seen them both on QE and QV close to the stern.

 

On QM2 there is a small wooden box on the floor close to the court net with 4 paddles, 3 balls and a hand sanitiser.

Interesting!  Thank you. Can you remember what the ball was like?  The pickle ball is hollow with holes in it and similar size to tennis ball but plastic.  I think the paddle tennis uses similar bats but a different ball. Thanks again for your help.  We will also be on the QM2 in about a month.

I was going to mention this. I think strictly speaking it was paddleball, since the balls looked like tennis balls (green and furry, as a non expert!) rather than the specialist pickle ball. I gather that for paddleball it's a tennis ball modified to reduce the ball's efficiency after being hit by the paddle. So as the saying goes, best to bring your own balls!

Ok thank you.  I think paddle tennis is more popular in the UK than pickleball.  Were the paddles solid like an oversized table tennis bat?  I’ll bring a couple of balls but it will be interesting to see how they bounce on that surface.

I have participated in shuffleboard on QV, QE and QM2, so that's definitely there. In good weather there's sometimes a competition advertised in the Daily Programme. In the case of QM2 the location is just before the photo in post 5. I did look for the Pickleball rules around there, but I couldn't see them But having spent a few minutes online reading up the rules, it didn't come across as at all complicated given the basic version is all of 4 paragraphs long.

Thank you!  Yes that is a pickleball with the holes.  I will bring a couple of extras.  The bats look the same but I might try to squeeze mine in! Much appreciated.  Do they have organised games through the daily program?

Thanks for your help and time.  I know the rules as I play 2 to 3 times a week.  I’ve played before on a Princess ship which we had to adapt the rules because of the netting around the court.  I’m keen to play if on board!

Correct!  I am familiar with the rules… hopefully it will be advertised in the Daily program so there will be others to play with. We may have to use the tennis balls as they may bounce better on the surface. Trial and error!

I've got a pretty good memory and unfortunately I cannot recall seeing anything like that. There wasn't one mentioned in today's Daily Programme.

"Paddle Tennis Tournament" is listed in the daily programmes for two of the days on both of the QM2 crossings we took last September. No mention of pickleball that I see listed there.
