Question about Onboard credit in casino

Can I use onboard credit (from reward points on the NCL credit card) to gamble on the ship, NCL Jewel. I did see in the fine print that you can’t use it for onboard daily service charge. I’m just trying to see what I can use my onboard credit for besides shopping, specially dining, and excursions. Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure but if you can't use it for the OSC, good chance you can't use it in the casino either. Conflicting reports on how it's handled, possibly because there are different accounting systems on different ships.

 

If you haven't already traded in your points, I highly advise you to get a statement credit instead. It's the same value, plus whatever you charge on your NCL card gets you more points. So if you charge $100 onboard for the casino for example, you get 3x points (covers the 3% service charge). Then cash in 10,309 points for a statement credit of $103. You are actually ahead because if you are able to use the OBC in the casino, you are still charged the 3% fee.

It's considered non-refundable credit, and my experience is that my refundable credit gets charged whenever I've done a transfer to the casino. So no, I don't think you will be able to use it.

What is a statement credit?  How do I get that instead of onboard credit?

same webpage you are on to redeem your points for OBC there should also be an option to cash in the points ( I always just redeem to my bank account)

Log into your BofA account on the website. Find the Rewards & deals tab. There should be a link there that takes you to a rewards page, choose cash.

I just got off the Jewel. Non Refundable OBC cannot be used to buy casino chips but good for tournaments where a fee is charged to participate. Line item was described as follows: Jewel Entertainment Charge $.... (the tournament fee)
