Scandinavia in September - Weather and Sea Days

Recommended Posts

So, we are booked on the Best of Scandinavia leaving Southampton on Apex on 27th August.

Living here in Ireland, we are having an atrocious summer, the weather isn't great. We are thinking that perhaps going northwards for our main holiday, while we are  being sun and pleasant weather starved may be foolish?

Also, there are 4 sea days on this 11 day cruise and we are thinking that's one too many as well as a few late arrivals into port and early departures in places like Stockholm.

Just looking for thoughts on weather prospects that time of year - we really do need some sun, if our main holiday was gloomy and rained out, it would be depressing !

I don't know if it's that different from Ireland. Don't expect much sunny weather.

In September, Stockholm typically experiences mild and gradually cooling weather. Average temperatures range from about 10°C (50°F) to 15°C (59°F). Precipitation is moderate, so expect some rainy days. The weather can vary, with both sunny and cloudy days.

No different from the rest of the Baltic Sea area - of course different in northern Scandinavia.

Thank you, yes, that's what id be expecting. Similar weather to here.

Lovely part of the world undoubtedly, but the weather wouldn't be a change for us.
