oct8880 Posted March 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Hi all, anyone been on a Northern European cruise - Sweden etc. Thinking about it for June 07 sailing on the RCCI NOS. What is the weather like?. Will it be warm enought to sit out on the sunbeds or swim in the outside pool? Thanks
suron Posted March 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Hi all, anyone been on a Northern European cruise - Sweden etc. Thinking about it for June 07 sailing on the RCCI NOS. What is the weather like?. Will it be warm enought to sit out on the sunbeds or swim in the outside pool? Thanks  We did the Baltic itinerary on Star Princess last August. The weather was wonderful and we used the pools every day. Also we could wear shorts the weather was so good. If you are interested I have posted a review of the trip which can be found at: www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=12469 We flew from London to Copenhagen where we boarded the ship. Our ports of call were Nynasham (for Stockholm), Helsinki, St. Petersburg (two days here), Tallin, Gydnia for Gdansk in Poland, Warnemunde for Berlin, Germany and back to Copenhagen where we berthed overnight before flying home. There are some wonderful sights but you will find it very hectic - you will probably need a holiday to recover from it all!!! If you go to the Baltic Ports threads you will pick up some really useful information from lots of people. It was these threads which helped us with our planning and we will always be grateful to the people who are so willing to share their tips with you. Good Luck with your plans. 2ladies Posted March 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2006 When we did the Baltic we had good weather round about 70. However, cruises before and after did not have good weather and it can be quite wet!! It is not reliable - take a "brolly" and raincape and layer!! You will love the cruise whatever the weather!!! Remember, June is quite early up North and it may well not be hot!! Equally, you may have great weather!!!
Globaliser Posted March 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2006 Hi all, anyone been on a Northern European cruise - Sweden etc. Thinking about it for June 07 sailing on the RCCI NOS. What is the weather like?. Will it be warm enought to sit out on the sunbeds or swim in the outside pool? Thanks  It's very much the luck of the draw. Last June I did a Norway/Spitsbergen cruise. At the first port, Stavanger, it poured with rain quite a lot of the day. It remained cloudy and cool for much of the cruise, though part of that was due to the northerly latitudes we reached. On the way back down, though, things were very different. This was Geirangerfjord, on a day warm enough for me to go for an (inadvertent) swim:- And we had a beautifully warm and sunny day in Bergen, T-shirt weather, as you can see:- So be prepared for anything and everything!
