Smaller, not open air/bus taxi to Magen's Bay or other beach

We hope to avoid the larger open-air taxis.

I wonder how we would go about hiring a smaller taxi for this ride.  (and maybe return???)

Is that possible, without making arrangements for a particular taxi service or driver?

Of course, I know the rate might be higher.  Not sure how that works, comparing the larger open taxis to a small van.

Thanks for any insight!

There are a few smaller vehicles at the dock, but no guarantee there will be one there. You can request one from the dispatcher at both docks.

You can also call VI Taxi Association at 340 774 7457 and request a small vehicle, but you have to meet them outside the gate of either dock. Different taxi associations have exclusives at certain properties. They usually come pretty quickly, because they radio drivers and closest one to your location is assigned. They'll tell you the license plate number.

Agree on the fare before getting in. One might charge the private rate, and one may charge the public rate.
