Classiccruiser777 Posted July 2 #26 Share Posted July 2 Just off QM2 after 23 days. Our ample OBC paid our “gratuities” as well as our onboard bar and shopping bills.
Rare *Miss G* Posted July 2 #27 Share Posted July 2 1 hour ago, 3rdGenCunarder said: you add a tip to a bar bill, for example, that goes into the tip pool, not to the specific waiter. I asked this question of the sommelier. He said that the service charge goes to the pool but the additional tip on the slip goes directly to him. I can’t see why the OP couldn’t add an additional tip to the slip for the bar staff, where it would then come off the OBC. This wouldn’t help him with the issue of the additional tips for the staff who do not present a slip, though. 1
Wedgie Wedgie Posted July 3 Author #28 Share Posted July 3 The som was the only one who collects solely when you add on his chit. That would come out of obc. We were in QG and we had several room service meals. Each time it was delivered by our butler. I asked if he received any gratis on those chits or the chits we signed for our included room spirits- room service pool gets those tips and anything on the room booze goes to the company. It all worked out. We just were not used to so much obc.
