rsuehle Posted June 27 #1 Share Posted June 27 I'm interested in snorkeling/swimming around Christ of the Abyss when we dock in Portofino. It is not at all clear to me despite much googling the best way to do this. Any personal recommendations? And if that's a no-go, generally good swimming/snorkeling around there? euro cruiser Posted June 27 #2 Share Posted June 27 I've never done this but after digging around a bit it looks like the best place to enter the water is the beach at San Fruttuoso. Closer points appear to be rocky cliffs. You can get to San Fruttuoso by ferry from Camogli or Rapallo, or you can walk from Portofino. The walk is about 5 km/3 miles. Rare marazul Posted June 27 #3 Share Posted June 27 One of the ferries stops both at Portofino and San Fruttuoso. We went there a few years ago. Not to the snorkeling site.
euro cruiser Posted June 27 #4 Share Posted June 27 (edited) You're right marazul, when I googled that it came right up. Here is the ferry company and schedule: Consorzio Servizio Marittimo del Tigullio - Traghetti e battelli Liguria Portofino Cinque Terre - it (traghettiportofino.it) Here is the 2024 schedule: smt linea 1 A4 2024 gennaio.cdr (traghettiportofino.it) It takes a half hour each way and costs 10 euro one way or 15 euro round trip.
