Luv or hate them my Mum needs one for our upcoming Iona Fjords cruise. Anyone know how easy it is to get off/on ship on one?

It depends on each port and the tides but in theory it should be fairly straightforward - they will announce which deck is most suited for mobility scooters and there will be members of the crew there to assist.

You are aware of the enhanced protocols for mobility aids are you and you have completed the assistance questionnaire?

I found the best way to sort out the gangway is to take a look over the side from the promenade deck at the side of the ship next to the dock.  Quite often they have a choice of two, one which is not as steep as the other as they sometimes come off from different decks.  In addition some of them have little steps a couple of inches high the full length of the gangway.  In this case can the scooter user walk down the gangway and a more active person manage the scooter.  Sometimes crew are helpful.  At tender ports you cannot get off with a mobility scooter 99% of the time.
