exercise classes

Recommended Posts

we are on Regatta in October travelling from Tokyo to Singapore over 16 nights,  our first Oceania cruise. We've just come off Cunard's Queen Anne and OH enjoyed doing yoga and Pilates classes (fee payable) and I did a stretch class (free). I understand exercise classes are included in the fare - does anyone have a schedule of classes on a typical cruise (if there is such a thing!)

many thanks

Read your daily CURRENTS that comes out the night before, with all the activities on the ship for the next day. That has the what, where and when.

BUT pulled out all 10 of my currents from Riviera (11/9-19/2023) and went thru each one. There were no formal scheduled yoga or Pilates classes.

There is an exercise room with machines. With another room adjacent to it that had open space for exercise mats and such activities. And people walk the various decks for exercise.

thanks for that, I appreciate you checking past Currents for me. Shame if they don't have actual sessions but OH knows enough to do his own if there's a space for it. I'll be doing lots of deck walking.

Yes. Though I suspect that someone who wanted could essentially "self-host" their own Yoga or Pilates classes and even get them publicized in the Currents and the PA system by working with the Cruise Director. (I did that to self-host Veterans gatherings near Martinis.)

On every O cruise we have been on there has been a free morning stretch and exercise class and at least one other free exercise class daily They have only offered a yoga or pilates class when they have had a certified instructor onboard and those did cost.  So their marketing is not fluff but true - they do offer daily free fitness classes.

On embarkation day, stop by the spa to get a class schedule for the whole cruise. There were classes on Regatta in September 2023 and May/June 2024; there were no classes in June 2023 so I think it may have been a staffing issue. There is no mention in Currents or this brochure of an additional cost for things like Pilates or HIIT.

Here is the schedule from Regatta May/June 2024:

It’s often necessary to sign up for the exercise classes in advance in order to secure a spot.  Go to the gym on embarkation day and you’ll find the sign up sheets.
