Which is/ was your least favourite Marella TUI ship?

Recommended Posts

The last cruise that we did was on the discovery. And to be honest, we were not impressed at all. It seems that there were not enough staff in the dining room, There were plenty of empty tables but insufficient staff to prepare them for the next diners. We were on for two weeks and We were seated upon entry twice, Handing out buzzers seemed to be the norm.

Trying to find a seat in the evening entertainment venues was difficult, lots of people standing about waiting for seats to become available, The Queues for the theatre spilled back into the live room thus blocking the view of the stage for a lot of people.I couldn’t understand why the squid and anchor wasn’t used to its full capability,It was the only venue that you were guaranteed to get a seat but then closed at 11 o’clock.

This is one ship that I will not be rushing to get back on.

For me Majesty was not my favourite                                                                                                                                                     Sun deck very narrow

Restaurant to many tables and chairs always trying to squeeze past other tables, blowing out soot over sun beds, no one wanted the Ship in the end went back to Louis cruses, now sold to a israeli cruise line as the Crown Iris ( Her history is not very good)

Have to concur with @Brummijam we disliked D2 different demographic, lots of big family groups, sun bed hogs, very slow drinks service. It was our 2nd marella cruise and if we'd gone on it first we'd probably never have cruised again.

I agree with you regarding Majesty, We only sailed on her once and never had the inclination to rebook.

Hi 2BA

we are yet to sample Discovery 2, our recent trip was on D1. Explorer and Explorer 2 are our preferred ships at the moment, Yet to try Voyager.

D2 unfortunately was our last cruise with TUI and although we found the ship layout ok, obviously similar to D, we did have a bad cruise with problem passengers and a JS that was not acceptable for which they refunded us but D2 would probably be not one of our favourite ships.

Hi PC and Mrs PC.

Hope you are both keeping well.

We have been fortunate on our trips regarding fellow passengers, we have met a few people slightly worse for wear. . but always amiable and pleasant.( Hoping it stays that way)

Hi BJ all ok here thanks hope you and yours similar. Think you're lucky if you haven't had any passenger issues, like you we have met some fantastic people and are still in touch with a few but, probably because of the amount of cruises we have taken, we have witnessed some major issues the worst on Spirit when two families had a fight and at 2am we had to launch life boat's to rescue people that had been thrown overboard 😖

The dream . From the moment we were shown our suite without the balcony we were promised . woken by fire alarm 2am first night to be locked behind firedoors as the engine room was on fire . Not being able to sail fast enough to see all itinerary as only one engine worked . Ship had constant list to one side , running out of water . Son witnessed man getting 3 teeth knocked out . and always the last to leave port as it was embarrassing starting the one engine leaving anyone and anything covered in thick layer of soot

Sounds like you had a great cruise!

Sorry, not mocking. It sounds awful. Hopefully never to be repeated

Ha well after my denoucement of D2 just booked a week on her in November Sights & Delights, the itinerary persuaded us to give her another try, £200 off offer helped too and local airport departure. 72 days and counting yahoo 😁
