Dose anyone know if you can change this option once it has been selected ?  Tried to  find the option  in My P&o Cruises but could not find it .

Yes, give them a call and they can change your selection.

If you do not want auto upgrades, yes you can opt out of this. If you booked through a T/A you will need to speak to them.

Have often found upgrades or so called upgrades from say one inside to another have little in the way of extras or being any better and are often in worse positions on the ship than those chosen, We did get an upgrade on Ventura last year from inside to sea view. Shame the rest of the cruise was a downgrade on any of the previous seventeen cruises.
