A few questions -

1) The Carousel shows are free now for YC? Great news I was going to buy tickets for both.

2) Who are the YC director and Maitre D'?

3) What are they doing for entertainment in the top sail lounge at night?

4) How is the food on the YC buffet on the pool deck and what have they had on offer?

Carousel is free!

Not sure but I’ll get names

so far it’s been a pianist who sings

what I’ve had has been good. Salad bar, roasted turkey or chicken, a type of fish, roasted vegetables, potatoes, burgers.  Today I saw coconut shrimp

Tried out the thermal area, very relaxing. Then hit the lounge for drinks and a game. This little roast beef and horseradish was a tasty little bite!!

Can only speak to June, 2024 cruise.  Entertainment in YC is a piano player, very low key and relaxing.  Breakfast at buffet is whatever you can think of, they made my husband's scrambled eggs fresh and brought it to our table when it was done.  Lunch was fabulous, lots of fish, freshly made burgers and hotdogs, soup, desserts.

On our first YC sailing (4/23) the pool deck/food was the best part of the trip.  I would have given the sailing 15 stars (out of 10).  DH was recovering from surgery, and YC made him feel like a king.  At that time they delivered pizza to the pool deck. Fast forward to April 2024, and weather not really cooperating...trip was good...but lacking as compared to the first time. No poolside pizza delivery either!   Still booked for 4/25...and hoping Mother Nature cooperates!

Isn't it odd that they stopped this?  I remember being able to have pizza on deck - now we have to do in (shamefully) in the secrecy of our cabin late at night 🙂 But then I can't stand having a pizza box and dirty plates/napkins in the cabin overnight.  Such a conundrum.

I am wondering....if you get a cabin delivery, can you carry it up to the pool yourself?  Or will the butler/concierge reprimand you?

OP...could you casually ask the concierge?

Oh, please do ask OP! I would love to try the pizza but hate to eat it in the room. The upper deck area would be nice to go to and enjoy it al fresco.

I think you could bring it up yourself for sure. I’ve read they do not deliver it to pool but maybe some butlers will

I'm guessing that the pizza box problem was a consideration in stopping delivery to the YC pool deck.  Also, consider the staff delivery person trying to find the rightful owner of the pizza among 100 or so people on the pool deck.

Finding the person isn't a problem...the yc medallion probably has GPS.

I highly doubt that a low tech passive device like the MSC wrist band has GPS.  There is very little benefit or possible use of GPS tracking.  Plus I don't think MSC would want to deal with privacy issues resulting from a real or perceived ability to track passengers' every move.

I remember it being our butler who had no problem finding us up on the pool deck since he knew we ordered it.

That's probably true.  Problem may be if your butler is temporarily unavailable and the delivery task is assigned to someone who is not familiar with you.

Yesterday was amazing at Ocean Cay.  Better than April!!  And the pina colada albeit runny really hit.  Like a painkiller from Jost Van Dyke!!

We skipped dinner last night for room service Caesar salads and pizza.  A great “girl dinner”

the comedy show was a bit unhinged but the odd audience didn’t help.  So many coming in late, leaving early, steady talking throughout.

Today was my 11th visit to Nassau so we stayed on board.  Great pool day/spa day.  Had a nice lunch on deck with a rum punch that did not play!!!

We sail in Yacht Club August 18 on deck 14. I'm getting very excited reading your posts and seeing the menus. Thank you.

In the YC bar do they stick to the drink menu or will they make you something off menu?

Laura

They can make off menu if they have ingredients. They made me a champagne cocktail when I gave recipe

When we were on board, we ordered a Rusty Nail in TSL and the bartender responded that he did not have one of the ingredients. We told him that the casino bar did have Drambuie (because we'd ordered a Rusty Nail there) and Hubert was on the phone immediately to the casino bar. We only heard his side of the conversation, but we clearly heard him say that he was in YC and he expected that the Drambuie would make its way to YC as well. I believe he said that if it did not, he "felt sorry" for the person on the other side of the phone. If you know the ingredient you need is elsewhere, speak up! 🙂

Back in 2021 when Covid was still worrisome, we were issued wristbands on the Meraviglia that were able to track where you were in the event someone tested positive and you might have been in contact with them they would be able to find you.  That was the only time we had to return the wristbands or we would have been charged about $40.00 if I remember correctly.  MSC was quarantining anyone who not only had Covid but those in close contact with them until tested negative.
