bjlbbk Posted August 9 #1 Share Posted August 9 We will have some time to kill on the day we disembark as we have a late flight home from Hobby. Does anyone have any recommendations for any day activities that might be worth doing in the area knowing we will still have our luggage to contend with? We would rather take advantage of the day instead of wasting it away sitting at the airport.

We disembark on a January Sunday morning and don't have to be at IAH until 5 PM. There are 2 problems: We have luggage. It's Sunday Morning in January. The first problem may be solved by The Cruise Stop. They will store our luggage for $5 each. Then Sunday; there doesn't seem to be much happening in Galveston before 11 AM. We are Still looking. The best we could come up with is to possibly reserve a day use hotel. We did something similar in FLL once and just hung out by the hotel pool for the day. Not sure that would be much fun in January though! We are going to play it by ear ourselves depending on what the weather brings us that day. I’m glad you mentioned The Cruise Stop as that might be a great option for us too. $5 per bag seems way more reasonable than the luggage storage options I had come across. Not sure what we would do from there but at least we wouldn’t have to worry about dragging our suitcases everywhere we go!
Galveston Cruiser Posted September 7 #5 Share Posted September 7 The luggagw storage is at a 24th and Strand. Lots to see and do downtown on the Strand and Post Office streets, shops, restaurants, Tall Ship Elissa and museum, Ocean Star Drilling Rig Museum

We are now at the Hendley Building, 2002 Strand St. Suite 101". The Cruise Stop 2 hours ago, Galveston Cruiser said: Lots to see and do downtown on the Strand Yes! Thank you. I think we'll be spending about 4 hours on the Strand in the shops and Cafe's. 3 hours ago, bjlbbk said: our cruise sails out tomorrow! Jealous!
