Had a quick dinner at the windjammer. Nothing special but did the job.

Stopped at giovanni's after to try and make our dining reservations for the next sailing since we have the dining package and he said we can, but with the new system, they may or may not wipe the reservations when the new sailing starts. I'm assuming it's related to the rollout of the availability to book dinners with the package online, or the guy just not wanting to do thr reservations, who knows.

I said we'd come back on day 1 to make all the reservations I guess.

On embarkation the WJ had a seafood station to die for.  Lots of half split lobsters, clams, shrimps & mussels.
Same in the Solarium Bistro.
The half lobster was bigger than the ones at lobster night.

Had both on the 3 & 4 days sail.

2:20am.. I guess it's time for bed. Had some decent luck in the casino after the red party. Up I think about $500 for the trip and earned enough points for Odyssey or symphony over the superbowl. Not sure which I'll pick.

Good night all. 20240828_003658.thumb.jpg.d1698cbcc850925552c158ca720a0f2f.jpg

Can only use your drink package one at a time and I wanted 2 going to the pool.. Package for one, diamond drink for the other since they don't matter or get used with the drink package. Snapchat-1635285568.thumb.jpg.ac80b48dcc398cdcd296f3d023e4ef58.jpg

I’m on Utopia this sail and the previous 3 nights and the casino is the most crowded that I’ve seen in all of my sailings.
Wall to wall gamblers and I’m sure the Royal is making a pretty profit even with the comped cruises.
Ps. Casino is as cold as an ice box.

Was on the second 3 night revenue sailing and experienced the same....actually placed a post how the casino on Utopia has a crowding issue. It was annoyingly packed the entire 3 night sailing I was on....didn't matter if it was dinner time or 1 am....packed. People were reserving machines an hour prior to casino opening and would sit on them for hours and hours. Also IMO they had the worst selection of slots I have seen also. The popular slots they had very few of and you couldn't get near them. They are filling Utopia on tons of Royal casino comps as well as now Hard Rock casino comps.

Saw the production show last night and it’s highly entertaining.  It   ‘s about an hour with Lots of dancing and singing

Towards the end the holographic scenes of a human was absolutely fantastic and almost seemed real in the interaction with the dancer.   Also, tiny lightshow over the audience.

Very few empty seats for the performance.

Were there cook to order stations? Like pasta or wok?

It appeared there was a pasta cook to order. I'll report back tonight what I find!

Another fun day in the solarium with new friends. The pool temp was perfect. Grabbed a few things from the food truck on the way back to the room to tide me over until dinner. I love the little raspberry cheesecake chimis.

For lunch they were prepared.
Was dying for a burger and did not ask if they would prepare on demand.

One interesting aspect was a chocolate fountain that people were getting fruits and marshmallows dipping. Very popular with passengers.

I personally had 2 scoops of ice cream and had nice ladle of chocolate which when it touched the ice cream froze and created a hard top.

It brought back the days of Quantum and Anthem sails.

That’s not what I meant. I was referring to the cook-to-order pasta/wok stations that are set up that way in advance.

Wonder had the same thing in June/July.

One thing I've always gotten a kick out of is the artwork above the urinals in each men's bathrooms. Symphony still has the best and over the top, but glad to see it carried out still on Utopia. 20240828_003421.thumb.jpg.b2d6a3cda78ff2aae5af586393a36c50.jpg

No, as mentioned, for lunch the Wok and the pasta station had pre-prepared meals and no ability to on request order.

Unlike the Anthem which had both.

Lasted all of 2 minutes at the tribute band show. I loved the tribute band in music hall on icon. On utopia, it was a u2 tribute band, and it was held in the theater for whatever dumb reason.

Was the chocolate fountain at lunch or just dinner?
