Cannes or Nice

It really depends on what interests you. For our very first cruise port, we went to Nice. We went to the Matisse and Chagall Museums. (DW is an art teacher, now retired). It was one of the very best port days we ever had.

We have also been to Cannes, and it was a nice day for us, but not nearly as good as the Nice day. But, if your interests are different, you might enjoy Cannes more.

If you enjoy designer shopping and all things celebrity then Cannes. If you enjoy culture and more authenticity then Nice hands down. Long story short, we spent 5 days in Nice a few years ago and we could have stayed longer. We had a day in Cannes off a cruise ship the other week and that was enough. It just depends on your own personal preferences. I will say though the Lerins Islands off the coast of Cannes are pretty and worth a visit for a walk or swim.

Thanks for your input

You're welcome. It probably should be mentioned if you can get to Nice or Cannes, you could also get to Monaco. That would not interest us, but some might find that their best choice.

Yes, Monaco was our choice. Cheap & easy by train or by bus.

And that's exactly why when someone asks what should I do it is impossible to give a good answer unless you know what their interests are.

Cannes or Nice…which one should I choose?

Assuming this is a cruise call; could you tell us where the call is? Unless it's a small ship it's probably a tender call.

What time of year, what day of week? Actual date would be better as public holidays and events could affect advice.
