No issue getting a porter to help us either. I read in a trade publication yesterday that the union President said that they will not interfere with any cruise ship embarkations/disembarkations. He said the union recognizes that cruise bookings are made a much as a year in advance and they do not wish to disrupt peoples' vacation plans. A smart move IMHO!!
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 3 #52 Share Posted October 3 While we were away about a week ago it was mentioned that the strike would not impact passenger cruise ships nor military ships. Glad what they said is the experience that those on-board had with debarkation. Here is one article about this for those who wanted to see it. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/ports-destinations/why-the-us-port-workers-strike-won-t-impact-cruises Keith
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 4 #53 Share Posted October 4 Glad to hear the news that the Long Shoremen will be returning back to work. While this wasn't going to impact passenger ships I was wondering if it would make it more difficult to provision items including food while the ship was sailing in the USA but now we don't have to find out whether there might have been some impacts.
