trap shooting??

I just read on the icruise site that the Mercury has trap shooting. Does anyone know it this is true? I have not seen that for a very long time. I thought they did not offer anymore due to safety.

For the life of me I can't remember when they last had it on any trip I took - post 9/11.

They may have it up in the simulator now - but not with a real gun and ammo.

Nope, they don't have it anymore.

As I recall they stopped it years ago (along with hitting golf balls) to save the ocean from extra pollution.

Never sailed Mercury, but I doubt it. We have not seen trap shooting on board for 10 or 15 years. I don't see how clay and little steel shot could hurt the ocean. It's hard to go all week without shooting anything!

Sign of the times, I suppose. I guess there are a few security concerns with loading up a 12 gauge and handing it to a passenger while a few dozen other passengers stand around. Gee, we lose trap and gain art auctions. That seems like a fair trade.

The problem could be due to the components in a shotshell. Steel shot and clay seem fine but each shell spits out a plastic shot cup and some form of wadding that could be a problem. IMHO
