Where did the option to upgrade your drink package go?

Forgive me if this has been addressed recently but I've tried searching several times and didn't have any luck finding it so I figured I would just post the question out there in hopes that someone has some insight.

 

We are taking a cruise on Ascent this coming March, and our booking includes the classic drink package. For a few weeks after booking, we saw the option on the website and the app to "upgrade" to the premium drink package, but that seems to have disappeared. Now, we only have the option to buy the premium drink package outright, which makes no sense at all. 

We have inquired with our Travel Agent who has informed us that Celebrity has been having some ongoing "glitches" and issues with their website and app and to just "wait it out" since we have plenty of time to purchase the upgrade prior to the cruise. While they are technically correct, it just seems weird that it has just vanished for the past couple of weeks or so.

 

Anyone have any idea about why this may be?

I agree with your TA. Just hang tough. Chances are good that there will be a sale between now and your cruise and you'll be able to upgrade at a discounted price.

Look at my post about the same issues. Ours disappeared in August & even though I have called numerous times & opened an IT ticket, Celebrity has not corrected it. I have called Celebrity every few days to find out if there's a flash sale since I can't see if there's a sale. Our cruise leaves next month.

I think the website and app are all messed up, IT needs to get to work.  All kinds of issues for me, can't book a few specialties for weeks now.

I have this issue as well…no upgrade option only option is to buy the premium package outright.  Trip isn’t until 2026 so I’m hoping eventually it’ll show up.

In the ‘cruise-planner’ there’s a new choice called drinks you can find it.

you have to go via the web page.

I have been looking for a while too, your post reminded me to look again and hey presto, the option to upgrade has appeared!  It is on the website, under plan my cruise.  Although at £12.75 pppd, I’ll wait a bit, hopefully there will be a sale, my next cruise is not until next year.

I just checked tonight & they fixed it! Flash sale is only 5% to upgrade to premium beverage pkg- the captains club discount at 10% is better. We cruise in around a month.

Mine has been missing for a while too and we cruise at Christmas. I figure I'll just call around Black Friday and see if there is a reduced price.
