I'm looking forward to that too. Just meander onto the verandah on a sea day and breakfast is all there waiting (not looking forward to the American bacon though. 🙂  )! I'd love to Have a Chateaubriand delivered to the verandah too one evening as I watch the wake and the sunset.

I've only sailed CC and the nice thing the butler does is set up in suite dining and bring it all course by course.

In CC suites, you order off the MDR menu which I doubt has Chateaubriand, but I have a hunch the big suites can order off the speciality restaurant menus, in which case that is one evening's dining sorted...

Yeah Ive been doing my research Fedex, Suite guests can order in room from Prime C and Aqualina, The Chateaubriand is on the Prime C Menu. I Was only in a Seabreeze Penthouse on Crystal but I was still able to order the fabulous lamb cutlets from the Prego menu.

Yep that's what I thought and if you get a nice evening for weather, not too much wind, it will be a lovely experience and your butler will help make it so. They do a nice job laying the table, bringing it course by course etc. You just need a decent red wine from the Ultimate list...

Sounds heavenly except the red wine. I'm allergic to Tannin so it will be a nice Chablis, Sancerre Gewurtzraminer or Vouvray for me. Does anyone happen to have any recent photos of the fine wine list?

Same for me with Red wine. I like your choice of whites. Also, red stains our teeth and the white keep them crisp and clean 😁

Thanks Belfastman, I thought you could order from any Restaurant menu doing normal hours. Has that changed recently?

There is that too but turning purple and struggling for breath tends to distract people from looking at the stains on your teeth anyway 🙂

In fact anyone can order dinner from the Discoveries menu, but if you aren't in a suite without a butler it will be served in one go. A butler can serve it course by course if you ask. If you are in one of the big suites you should be able to order off the Specialty menu(within reason, not every night).

What's changing with the alcohol for the suite?  As I said anyone can order from the Discoveries menu. Not just suites. Specialty menu has never been advertised as a perk of the big suites, but if you all they'll do it.

If you’re in a big suite you can request your butler to serve from Prime C or Aqualina menus. That was the confirmed position on Journey on week before last Transatlantic cruise. I think that is a big suite only option.

We were also offered the option of 2 litre bottles of spirits (an increase from one), and although we asked to trade in for a better brand (we had purchased Ultimate package) this request wasn’t granted (and it had been previously). We didn’t pursue further and did not open either bottle provided.

We both received ‘free’ unlimited basic wifi (combination of suite and loyalty level). I found the wi-Fi to be better than expected for a TA. My husband upgraded to wi-Fi plus for $7.95 per day and was even happier with that. Now that ‘free unlimited’ wi-Fi available to all, not sure what the cost to upgrade to wi-Fi plus would be in this scenario.

Info from our recent experience.

Thanks

Jane

Many thanks Jane. I’m planning to upgrade the Wi-Fi too. Seems a lot quicker.

The upgrade on Journey is $25 per day and on Quest is $10 per day. The other two ships remain at $7.95 per day.

As Mrs Skip has stated you now  get two bottles per suite  or one of an upgraded spirit .The Concierge told me that this was a change from head office.

Wow that’s petty. Can you order drinks to your suite if you’re on the ultimate package? If not do they restock the Champagne?

Yes the butler will bring you drinks which are included in the package.

Hi Belfastman,

Our experience last week was ONLY the offer of 2 bottles of basic spirits, with no option to ‘swap’ for one bottle of a better quality. We didn’t raise it any further, with hindsight we should have done. If your info via the concierge is that’s it’s possible to have that one better  bottle, then that’s great news.

That’s good to hear but I’d rather not have to run the butler ragged. Do they replace the initial bottle of champagne so you’ve always got something in for emergencies or is it one and done? Also do they carry Taittinger onboard?

bottle of champagne is one and done (was Moet recently). Ultimate drinks are served by the glass as opposed to the bottle. Again our recent experience. Tattinger can be bought. You also have the option of bringing your own bottles of champagne on board which is good if you have specific requirements. No corkage if you’re drinking in suite.

That’s great thanks Jane. My perfect evening is taking shape. Scallops wrapped in bacon starter, Chateaubriand and a bottle of Taittinger out on the verandah watching the sun set over the ships wake. It’ll be a one off as I’m a very social creature and will probably don my gladrags soon after and go and make a party somewhere but it would certainly tick one off the list.

The best perk about the top suites is the space.

I really enjoyed a nice perk not yet mentioned here:  having breakfast quietly delivered and set up in one room, while waking up and getting ready in the other room.

Oh yes!  We have a pot of coffee quietly delivered every morning, no need to call and request it.

I would also suggest having a meal or two in your stateroom or on your verandah if it's nice out.  Your butler will be happy to set it up for you.

As regarding the champagne, yes, you can have it delivered to you in your suite, but typically is by the glass ( I expect you are upgrading to the ultimate bev package as that's where you'll get the true champagne).

Definitely upgrading Laurieb. I do like the real thing. If you order for instance a glass of Taittinger and you are on the ultimate package, do you just pay the difference like on X or do you pay full whack? I’m finding it tricky to find info like this.

I believe you would need to purchase a bottle, unless that happens to be what they are pouring for the Ultimate pkg champagne.
