Jones Act

I'm looking to do a B2B cruise 

1st leg is Honolulu Hawaii to Vancouver Canada then 2nd leg a round trip from Vancouver to Alaska returning to Vancouver.

Does this violate the Jones act by doing this ?

Hello @digdirt and welcome back to the Cruise Critic website & message boards! I see it has been quite a while since you have posted.

 

Uninformed cruise line reps & travel agents often say Jones Act when it is actually the PVSA.

No, this does not violate the PVSA (Passenger Vessel Services Act, not the Jones Act), as you are starting in a US port, but ending in a foreign port.  The two cruises are each legal, and together are still legal.  Adding the second cruise is no different than the first one alone, as that cruise also begins in the US and ends outside the US.
