muffin Posted April 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2006 We are thinking of doing a back to back on the Galaxy... Nov 20/06.. 11 days from Rome to Greece, Greek Islands, Turkey and back to Rome. Then continuing from Rome for 14 nights to Nice, spain, Portugal, south atlantic, st Martens, and end in San Juan. We realize this is a little later than ideal, but would like feedback on the weather in the Meditteranean, the availability of tourist points of interest, and atlantic crossing at this time.. remember it is NOT a north atlantic crossing!! Thank you for your insight... "real people' knowledge is invaluable!
Belle Posted April 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2006 So are a few others. Look at the roll call board. There's one for 11-20 and 12-1, so far about 4 or 5 couples doing the back to back. We know the weather is going to be COLDER but look at all the places we get to see. Plus the PRICE is right! We will have a good time no matter what the weather. Remember we do get some warm weather at the end. LOL Hope you decided to go. If so join us on the roll call.

I have been to Italy in November and although it is cool you don't have to deal with long lines at the muesums. the tourist are gone. It is really great. With shopping there are a lot of bargins as well. The Greek Island especially Mykonos will be cold and not much to do but food is sooo cheap that you can enjoy a great meal and the true Greek experience. Belle Posted April 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2006 For the information of how it is in November. So did you have a good time even thro it was cold? Coats, gloves ect didn't stop you from enjoying yourself? Nice not to have long lines and great bargins. I wish Greece would be warmer but just to be there, eat the food and have the Greek experience is what I want. Thanks again
muffin Posted April 3, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted April 3, 2006 Thanks toyou both for the info.... great to see excited people already!!! Any others with observations about this weather issue?? I ran a search by typing in the city name and weather..then chose weather underground... most intersting site.. it gives you a trip planner option whereby you type in the dates you will be there, and it tells you the last several years averages. It gives hi temp, low temp, % of days over 60 degrees, % of cloudy days, and % of windy days. It is better than I thought it would be.. Mikonos 60 hi and 53 low, Santorini 64 hi 55 low, but both are over 50% windy. Rome is 57 hi and 44 low, Istanbul 56 hi and 46 low.... just to give you an idea. Won't need down jackets at any rate!!!
