getting an owner's suite on Fantasy

Can anyone give me any information about booking an owner's suite (Penthouse 1) on the Fantasy? We already have a cat 12 booked but I read on here that on one occasion, someone who booked a cat 12 was given the owner's suite by the much-adored "upgrade fairy" and on another occasion someone else said they were actually able to book the owners suite. However, I checked with my PVP about doing this today, and she told me that she did not think it was standard practice to book that one and she would have to get back with me. So, has anyone actually called and booked that suite and if so, approximately how much more does it cost than the cat 12 that I've already booked? I did a search and found some great pics of the suite, overlooking the pool and everything. I was just curious about how to get it. Thanks in advance for any info you guys can provide. You're always so helpful!!

I think that accomodation is only available on two ships now...the Fantasy and the Ecstasy. There are two on each of those ships...Penthouse 1 and Penthouse 2, located at the very top of the atrium, overlooking the pool. On other ships the PHs were turned into Camp Carnival.

I've purchased the privilege twice on the Ecstasy, through my travel agent. The rate was approximately $1200.00 per day for two people. (Don't flame me...I married the boss's son 25 years ago and he's very generous.)

The PHs are huge (about 1300 sq.ft.), but there are drawbacks...if noise bothers you.

The jogging track is directly overhead, and there is a lot of stomping going on early morning when the joggers get out there. Teenagers also hang out there at night, dragging chairs around. Parties on the Lido deck might make you postpone bedtime, too. If sleeping between 2 AM and 6 AM are enough for you, you'll enjoy the cabin!

There is a separate bedroom, with King sized bed. The bathroom is huge. There is a dining area that seats 4. A large living room with stereo, tv, and vcr.

for that! I appreciate the information. I say if you can do it, DO IT AND ENJOY IT! I saw where someone got the owner's suite for only about $300 more than the cat12 and now I'm wondering if that was true judging from what you paid. I certainly cannot afford that much of a price difference! Thanks again for the info!

No one w/a brain would ever flame you, but I do think the Boss's son's wife needs a live in cook..............I can heat up Stouffers all day long w/ a smile on my face!

I don't think I'll ever sail Fantasy class again, hearing way too much BS for my taste. So no more PH1 or 2 for me..............but it was fun.

I called "Reservations Administration" at CCL within the last few weeks to get the rate for the Fantasy 3-day (sailing in August). It was $1482.83 per person for the 3 days. And when I factored in what I have read regarding the NOISE (that would drive me nuts) and the 1 or 2 people who brought up that the room can get WARM when the summer sun beams though all the glass... well, the novelty factor wore off... Instead we ended up booking a CAT 12 for October on the Fantasy (which now will be on the Sensation due to the ship switch!).

I know that the Owner's Suite is also on the Sensation and Inspiration, as I have received quotes, and read reviews, on those in the past. As I recall, only the 2 (or so) newest Fantasy class ships do not have them.

I talked with someone with the OPC (Ocean Players Club) about getting an upgrade from a CAT 12 to the Owner's Suite - and evidently the multiple thousands that I lay out in the casino during a cruise is not ENOUGH PLAY to justify the upgrade at this time:rolleyes: . When pressed (VERY politely and diplomatically!!)for some insight as to WHAT LEVEL of play would be sufficient, they STOPPED RESPONDING to my e-mails!!! I suppose some things are SECRET... or "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" LMAO :D

I'm one of those multiple thousands spenders in the casino, too...and have never had the OPC do anything for me other than free drinks (I don't drink) until the last cruise I took in March. I have never received any discount on accomodations through OPC, either.

I wonder why the Ecstasy PHs are so much higher than the Fantasy? I pulled out my documents to make sure I quoted HarleyGirl the correct figures.

The novelty has worn off for me, and I changed my reservation to Cat 12 for my next Ecstasy cruise.

and T...

I have a cook/housekeeper who can't cook or housekeep already. But I do need to hire a new "BFF". You are immensely qualified! My new house will be ready in June, so be ready to move!
