Danno Posted April 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2006 Have you ever noticed that on any given day here there are many threads about air problems when booked through the cruiseline...interesting that a great many of the cruise execs, are from the airline industry...anybody noticing a trend here?? Longboysfan Posted April 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2006 I do know that they tend to take you on the hub routes which benefit the airlines booking full indirect flights. Not always the direct flights. But... The good thing about using the Celebrity air - is that they must get you there - plus - supply the transfers to the pier. Most times this is not worth a lot. Other times - more than you know. I found using the Celebrity air is like getting free insurance.

Although they will make every effort to get you there they have no obligation to do so whether you take their air or not.
Danno Posted April 4, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted April 4, 2006 I think Don is correct...I think they make every effort, but they don't move mountains. I've heard it many times here that the cruiselines claim that they book air only as a courtesy (non-profit) so they won't gaurantee to get you there "no matter what". ocngypz Posted April 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2006 The cruiselines provide air ticketing merely as a convenience for their cruise passengers. It is up to the airline to get you to the ship.
