When to book Galaxy--HELP!!

Okay--now I don't you all to get smug but I'm a HAL loyalist who is going on my first Celebrity cruise to the Med in October. Looking at cruises for the winter I like the 10 day Galaxy out of San Juan. We're debating between that and the HAL Ryamdam in the Mexical Riviera that does the Copper Canyon.

Now the Galaxy is considerably less expensive, but when will I be Captains Club?

I would love to wait and book on the ship but I think that will be too late. Will Oct be too late for Jan-Feb. if we want a veranda cabin?

Is there a discount for past cruisers?

Will I be a past cruiser before my cruise but after final payment for my Med cruise (I know this sounds so lame, but I had to ask)?

What is a Happy Hour and where do I find it?

IS THIS AN INDICATION THAT I HAVE JUMPED SHIP TO CELEBRITY???

O.K. The earlier you book the better the price.

If you are Captains club you get a 1 level upgrade.

Pay for cat 5 get cat 4.

The February 2nd trip is a friday to monday trip and covers two weekends.

There - as far as I see - no other ships leaving port that day.

The balcony staterooms may go quick - as there are not a large amount of them.

The Happy hour sales - are more readliy found by your agent.

They have the larger discounts in them.

They only put cruises on here that are not selling to form.

Hi, welcome to X.

You become Capt's Club after your first cruise is completed.

Happy Hours come out on Tuesdays and only offer certain

sailings and you must book on that day.

There is a website for them but I don't have it. Maybe someone

can post it for you.

I haven't sailed Galaxy but have been on Mercury and Century

(same ship class). I loved them both.

As for discounts, X's only discounts come on those Happy Hours,

money wise.(if that is wrong I am sure someone will correct me pronto)

You can get a 1 category upgrade once a Capt Club member though.

There are no past passenger discounts or upgrades for balcony cabins on Celebrity.

Always book early to get your choice of stateroom and dining assignment.

Unlike HAL, Celebrity does not offer a past passenger rate code.

Ignore any postings about Happy Hours. These rates are more for people who can travel last minute and don't require air. Last minute air to SJU can be very expensive.

If the rate should drop, Celebrity is must easier to work with than HAL when it comes to re-faring your booking.
