I Finally Figured It Out!

Was wondering how to add a link to our new roll call and think I finally figured it out! :confused: Now I'm testing to see if it works and hope my fellow cruisers find it. That will teach us to start our roll call over 1 year in advanced. :D Otherwise I think I'm going to like these new boards. Except I can't wait till I'm not a junior member anymore! ;)

I found out how to add the smilies. Type the semi-colon and right parenthesis--like this:)

wvdreamer - how did you get your countdown clock to work?

 

mammallama - you can also go to your User CP, edit options, and for "message editor interface" choose "enhanced interface" and then you'll have a group of smilies you can just click on to put into your posts. :cool:

On wvdreamer's original post to this thread. You have to enable signatures in your User CP to see them. Go to User CP and edit options. I can see your signature but your countdown clock shows up as a link and so does mine.

Hey everybody - didn't know how to get my clock to work so I went to the old boards and went to my pop - then my profile - copied the http post for my clock then went to user cp on the top of the boards and copied it onto my new signature. Don't know how it worked for sure but I guess I got lucky! :eek:

just went to my signature and copied this :

See if you can copy it and transfer it to your signatures. For your date change the cdt=2004;10;08;17;00;00 part to be your times (year,month,day,time)

I understood you the first time, wvdreamer. ;) I still had to monkey with mine a bit and change the tags at the beginning and end so I'm glad you came back with a more detailed explanation. Now I just need to add a countdown clock for my Alaskan cruise next year. :D

pls help. my old countdown clock was in my signature line as a link. I did as this post suggested and copied and pasted from my old profile, but it still doesn't seem to be working. i have some gobbley gook and then the link. huh?:(

I am trying to get mine to work and don't understand what you have to change the tags to. Currently mine reads like this:

I have put quote marks on this one so that it won't show up as a link and you can read my codes. What exactly do I change? Is it the ""? If so, what do I change them TO? I don't really want to just copy the one from wvdreamer because I liked the particular font that mine had. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

Well, that didn't work...I was trying to show you what the wording looked like and instead it showed up as the link. I think I'll just give up....I tried to read the Control Panel info and it was so confusing! Oh well...

Okay, let me see if I can explain this.

 

If you have the [ IMG ] tag at the beginning and the [ / IMG ] tag at the end it's not going to work. Remove those original tags. The front tag should be

 

<IMG SRC="

then the http address

End it with another double quote and a > (no spaces - the only space will be between IMG and SRC)

 

Also make sure the http address is not still a link. To remove the "link" part of it go to the end of the address and backspace once. That should remove the link (and the underline).

 

Does any of that make sense?!?!

I just went to the original website of the quietman below. I followed his directions to get the code.

I went to the top of this page and clicked on User CP.

When that opened, I clicked on Edit signature.

I pasted the code in my signature box.

I clicked on preview under the box, saw it worked and clicked save signature.

I notice you are missing a lot of the code. Go back to the quietman and redo the code. Then right click on it and when it darkens copy and paste all of it into your signature box..

 

Mine looks like this.(without the dollar signs to keep it from showing)
