vossjemi Posted December 11, 2007 #76 Share Posted December 11, 2007 Hmmmm I want Garlic Shrimp now! LOL Yes - I confirmed with Randi, that it is about 20 riders and then she opens another group. I can't wait to get back there. Those onion rings ROCK. I got Chris to give me the recipe, but I prefer to have them make them for me while I lounge on the beach. :) Thanks! scruffers2006 Posted December 15, 2007 #78 Share Posted December 15, 2007 Randi also sends out about 4 guides with bigger groups and special guides when there are children. From what we have seen, the others send out younger guides that are more interested in having fun than taking of the riders. We felt well taken care of. My hat fell off, Randi told me not to wear it, but one of her guides was off her horse and had my hat picked up and handed to me before I really realized it was gone. Her guides are GREAT! Hi Suzie! Scruffers:)
suziehmkr Posted December 15, 2007 #79 Share Posted December 15, 2007 Hi Suzie!Scruffers:) Hey Scruffers! How have you been? :) We will be riding with our friend in 27 days!! I can't wait to see her and to have some heavenly shrimp & those fabulous rings!! I am going to order up the guacamole this time. Scruffers:) Hey Scruffers - I have one better. My daughter and 1 other person were carrying their drivers licences and ship card in a plastic thing around their neck. They didn't notice until we got to Victor's that they had bounced out. The guide went back and found both my daughter licence and ship card and the other persons ship card. Don't know how they did it. Have fun Tina - wish we were going with you. It has been far to long since we have seen Randi and that beautiful beach and wonderful food.:(

morriscats Posted December 15, 2007 #83 Share Posted December 15, 2007 Thanks Tina, Happy Holidays to you too. We just got back from our 15 day RT to Hawaii on Diamond Princess. Amazing cruise. Amazing ship. We are looking at Star Princess from S.F. in October to Mexico. Not sure yet. Heck, just sell the house and cruise!!! Tell Randi hello from us and Merry Christmas. suziehmkr Posted December 15, 2007 #84 Share Posted December 15, 2007 I will definitely tell her hi for you! Glad you had a great cruise... we did the 15 day on the Island Princess. And while we had issues onboard, the Islands themselves were fab! That is why I am now a Polynesian Dancer! :) We are going back for a land vacation next December. Kona, since we missed the port on the cruise and it was THE place that we wanted to snorkel. Let me know if you book the SF trip.... That sounds fun! like2cruise Posted January 24, 2008 #85 Share Posted January 24, 2008 Hola, We just got back last Sunday from our cruise on the Dawn Princess. A week ago we were with Randi and her happy horses. Yes...a good bra is a must...and we were just a little sore around the inner thighs the next day, but no problems! We booked this cruise primarily to go back to Mazatlan and ride horses with Randi. We had done this in March 2001 of the Carnival Elation. It was one of our favorite excursions that we have ever done and we wanted to enjoy this experience again. There were 4 in our group. 2 that had never done this excursion and 2 (me and my hubby) who were hoping it was as wonderful as it was the first time. There were 12 other that joined us and it was a great group that really meshed well. For us, it was as good as we remembered and for our friends they are still taking about how awesome it was. Randi as many will agree, is one of those rare people, who you feel becomes an instant friend from the moment you meet her. Her goal it seems is to make sure your experience is as close to perfect as possible. Her helpers, Tony and his dad, Daniel are very personable and make sure everyone is having a great time. Randi does not ride anymore like in 2001, but she met us at the pier with her infamous pink sign and traveled with us to Stone Island. She oversaw us getting on our horses and waited for us at Victor's. After a beautiful ride partially in the coconut grove and then primarily on the beach she entertained us with great conversation while we enjoyed Garlic and Coconut Shrimp. For the 4 of us, all of the shrimp was great, but the Coconut Shrimp is to die for. It is so good we add to order an extra order to enjoy!!! The vendors were selling their goods which we enjoyed purchasing. Hair braiding is available if interested. Once Randi escorted us back to the ship, she helped us arrange for $2.00 per person her driver to take us on a mini tour to see the cliff divers. We still had plenty of time to shop at the pier. We enjoy this so much that we promised we would be back to do it again...only next time with our daughter who couldn't go this trip as she is a senior in college, but she still talks about it too. One last amazing fact...the pricing is 2001 was $40.00...7 years later the pricing is only $45.00...I wish everything else had such a small price increase. THIS IS A BARGAIN! Happy Cruising. funat55 Posted January 24, 2008 #86 Share Posted January 24, 2008 We are going on the Pride in July. Does anyone know if there is an age limit for Randys horses? My daughter and her 12 year old want to ride but she also has a 3 year old. Can the 3 year old ride double with Mom? If so, I'll just meet them at Victor's. I have a bad back and don't want to chance it. LaVonna
Desertbelle Posted January 24, 2008 #87 Share Posted January 24, 2008 We took our 3 1/2 year old grandson to Randi's last year, and he did great! Randi doesn't want them riding double, so Tommy was put on his own horse and Maria, one of Randi's helpers (I think she is Tony's sister) lead him around, never leaving his side. He had a blast!! momonmeds Posted January 25, 2008 #89 Share Posted January 25, 2008 We were there in December, and I can't say enough good things about Randi and her staff. My dd wasn't quite 3, and she did great. Daniel has a special harness he put around her waist to hold her in the saddle, and Lulu stayed right by her side the whole time. My dd is usually a little shy around strangers and new experiences, and I wasn't sure how she would do. She did awesome! It was everyone's ( ages 75, 44, 43, 38, 20, 17, 16, 14, 12, 11, 9, 8, 6, 2) favorite day of our cruise. We'll definitely be back!!
mtncouple Posted January 25, 2008 #90 Share Posted January 25, 2008 We did Randy's horses in Feb. on Valentine's day! It was a beautiful day and Randy and her crew are the best. I will go again next time we go to Mazatlan. The beach, coconut grove, food, everything was great! They stop and take pictures of your individual groups at the ocean. They use your camera and No they don't charge. So its a really nice gesture for them to do that for everyone. Just the ride to get there is an amazing trip in itself. Just a little extra info.....Randy is such a nice lady and she loves Smarties (rolled candies) and she can't get them there. I heard about it and brought her a bag of smarties! She was really surprised and she likes to share them with the children. Enjoy! You will love it.

tspinn Posted January 27, 2008 #92 Share Posted January 27, 2008 I just booked with Randi's Happy Horses for my cruise in April. I rode with Randi several years ago and had a blast. It is my favorite thing to do in Mazatlan. The beach is awesome and also the food at Victor's. I am with a group of 7, but everyone else is undecided about what to do. I decided I will go alone if I have to. (My sister may decide to come, but it depends on what her daughter decides to do.) Randi is the best and I love this excursion. Steve94 Posted January 30, 2008 #95 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Hello friends....Can anyone advise if I not book Randi's tour but while at Stone island rent a horse on my own for 30 minutes to an hour with her or any other operator? Prices? Thanks for reading

Sangela Posted February 3, 2008 #98 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Quick question...I am definitely booking a ride with Randi, when we're there in April, however, my dear hubby is not into riding, seems like Stone Island has alot of activities for non horsey types, so if I book a ride, can I just leave him there and let him find something to do while I ride? :D Never been there before, so not certain what's available, seems like Victors is a must do for lunch. (mmm, shrimp) And I"m sure there's plenty of other activities, too. Any recommendations?
suziehmkr Posted February 3, 2008 #99 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Yes - you can pay Randi just for the transportation... while you go off riding, he will be taken to Victor's where he can spend the day on the beach and visit with Randi.
mtncouple Posted February 3, 2008 #100 Share Posted February 3, 2008 She is a kick in the pants! He will enjoy himself immensely and so will you. The ride there is fun too! Wear a good bra for bouncing! Our 8 day cruise in March skips Mazatlan:( . I would love to ride with Randy again. Oh well, there's always next year:D
