bubbles1209 Posted May 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Is it true that the carnival ship elation is the smallest and oldest of the carnival ships? I thought that I read that somewhere in a post the other day, did a search and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks for any answers:)
Eliot Ness Posted May 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Is it true that the carnival ship elation is the smallest and oldest of the carnival ships? I thought that I read that somewhere in a post the other day, did a search and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks for any answers:)No, that isn't true. The following site will tell you when each ship was built. The Elation was built in 1998 and as a Fantasy class ship it is neither the oldest or smallest in the fleet: http://www.discount-carnival-cruises.com/Carnival%20Fleet.htm John
zqvol Posted May 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Short answer is NO, to either question. It is not the oldest nor is it the smallest.
toad455 Posted May 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2006 The oldest & smallest is the Holiday. The Elation was the 7th out of 8 Fantasy-class ships to be built.

Cotton Posted May 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2006 We love Smaller Ships........Celebration and Jubilee and Holiday are as big as we really would care to see. Ah, Voyager, you wouldn't really want to see the Jubilee right now, would you?:D Bubbles, the Holiday (my favorite ship) is the oldest and smallest in Carnival's present fleet, but still a great ship. Holiday was put into service in 1985 - Elation in 1998. ..

cruzeluver Posted May 5, 2006 #11 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Sorry but I don't like that web site! Their sole criteria for ship ratings appears to be age and size. If I didn't know better and found that site, I would think that the Holiday and Fantasy class ships were horrible, which is far from true!
