Booked on a b2b on the Crown, 1 leg is clockwise starting at San Juan and going to St. Thomas etc, 2nd leg is counter clockwise going from San Juan to Aruba etc. Have always had port balconys and was on the port side when in port - makes sense? Now for the ??

When "parking" the ship which side will face the land??

When ships always docked (not parked ..LOL) port side. Those days are long gone. Today, with bow thrusters and azapods, ships can literally turn circles so one week you might dock port side the next week starboard (not starport LOL) depending on others ships in port, etc.

One never knows...the thrill of discovery!

Bon Voyage!

It has little to do with "captain's whim" as another poster stated, but does have a lot to do with pier, tides, winds, volume of traffic, etc.

Starport - are we talking Starship Enterprise here?
