Ft Lauderdale Hotels?

We are cruising on the Jewel in March '07, and are arriving in Ft. Lauderdale the day before. Does anyone have any suggestions on hotels?

We were very happy with the Sleep Inn and Suites (Dania) recently.

 

They had a free shuttle from the airport and free breakfast.

 

I am pretty sure they had a free shuttle to the pier too, but I am not positive as we were sailing out of Miami.

 

They is a grocery store across the street. They sell wine there too. I am not used to that being from NY. :)

Near the ports, try extended stay america - Located by the convention center and the port- very reasonable.

I love to stay in Ft. Lauderdale!!! If you don't care about money stay at the Harbour Beach Marriott...it is a great spot and has an awesome spa. If you are traveling off season then ask for the AAA rate and it is cheaper (not cheap). Also the Hollywood Marriott is very good and I saw many cruisers there - a short taxi ride but it is mose cost effective then the Harbour Beach. :)

If you rent a car, you'll have more options when it comes to hotel selection. Keep in mind that March is still high season in Florida especially if you'll be there during Spring Break, Easter and/or Passover. You may not be able to get a "bargain.":)
