splitting an onboard account?

My sister and I are taking a cruise together in June on the Norwegian Dawn. I was wondering if they keep track of (and show on the bill) which passenger made a charge on your ship account, or if it's all just collectively billed to the cabin? We each want to pay for our own expenses (drinks, purchases, etc.) but do we have to keep track of that ourselves or do they make it easy for you?

Thanks in advance!

DD and her friend just returned from the Spirit. They shared a cabin but each of them registered their own credit cards for their onboard account, so they each received a bill with their own charges at the end of the cruise. The only thing was the shore excursions which were billed to one account which they just split. It may be easiest if you each just use your own credit card.

Thanks! When do you register the credit card(s) for the onboard account(s)? When you first embark?

When we cruise we check our receipts daily and compare to the bill at the end of the cruise. Since you both will have cards and getting separate receipts it should be a simple matter to tally each at the end of the day and know what each person's share of it is.

When you check in at the pier they will take a swipe of each of your cards. All drinks, purchases, and tips will be billed on separate accounts. Could not be easier.

Very easy. We have cruised with a friend and she always has her charges done seperately on her credit card. However if excursions are booked in advance, they will appear on one account.
