Whittier to Anchorage

I plan to stay an extra day in Anchorage after my cruise. What transporation is available from Whittier?

 

Any suggestions on things to do or a place to stay (reasonably priced) would be appreciated. Unfortunately I won't have time to go to Denali.

We're taking their 4 hour tour that goes from Whittier to Anchorage - $49 per person with stops at Portage glacier, etc. http://www.alaskaleopard.com

If you happen to have a late flight home the following day, I suggest you either rent a one way car or get a shuttle direct to Seward. With a one way rental car with Avis or Harley's (expect it to be costly) you would have the option for a great sightseeing drive back to Anchorage. If timing could be worked out you may have the option for my top highlight- a Kenai Fjords boat trip.

 

Determine HOW much you want to pack in, my opinion only, don't waste your short time.
