lilly707 Posted June 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I've started my packing for our July 10th cruise on the Coral. I'm so excited as this is our very first cruise. My question is about dress on regular ship nights in the dining room. How dressy do women dress? Are nice slacks and a blouse the norm? Will I see nice crop pants in the dining room on Alaskan cruises or stay with long slacks and skirts? I'm getting a little stressed over packing for the dinner nights. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
Budget Queen Posted June 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2006 You will see capris, but I find them too cold for me in Alaska. I do spend a great deal of time out on deck, and if after dining I want a look, I'm dressed in long pants. :) But your list is fine for nonformal nights. Mix and match, and don't overdo it. Do laundry if possible to cut down on bulk. Even one load can cut your amount by 1/3 in my opinion. Have a great time.
grouchy Posted June 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2006 and a few tops. That cuts down on luggage and I am ready for anything.
ZigNKat Posted June 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2006 This is our first cruise to Alaska, but we've been on other cruises. This time I'm taking one pair of black dress pants for dinner and five different tops and sweaters for dinner -- no multiple outfits for me this time! And only one pair of shoes!!! CStorm Posted June 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2006 What about boots? I usually wear dress boots with my black pants all winter. Am I going to look ridiculous in boots in Alaska in July?
JuneauWhatIMean Posted June 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2006 There's nothing wrong with black dress boots except that they take up more room in your suitcase than pumps or sandals. Wear what makes you happy.
