taxi in Rhodes

We just returned from the Mediterranean and found Rhodes was a perfect place to hire a taxi for a private tour. We went to Lindos - where you can ride the donkeys or walk to the top of the hill to view the Acropolis - and then to Faliraki beach(beautiful) and a tour of the island. Some others also stopped for lunch. You can then leave time for the Old Town and have the driver drop you at the top of the hill near the Palace. It is far superior to a ship tour. Our taxi driver who was terrific was Stamatis Klonaris Radio TAxi # 105. Phone 6932538605. There are lots of taxis at the dock but we were very impressed by him. All the taxis it seems offer to take you to the ceramic, leather and/or gold store. It is easy to pass up these stops. If there are 4 of you the price is great but it was worth it for just two of us.

Did you just off the ship and find the taxi or had you made arrangements before you arrived?

Also, if you don't mind telling me , how much was it? It looks right now as if it would just be two of us.
