Bears in Alaska

Hi, has anyone heard about the flights to Traitor's Cove for bear viewing? We REALLY want to see bears but realize nothing is a guarantee. :confused: We're looking at going Aug 24 either with Sea Wind Aviation or Island Wings. Any info would be greatly appreciated. BudgetQueen, do you know? I appreciate all your advice. thanks

Yes, that is a prime black bear feeding area. I've seen numerous bears out there until early September. Just remember wildlife viewing is unpredictable at best. But that is a good area.

Ask the venders, but Traitor's Cove is usually peak through August.

Saw a black bear along the roadside driving from Skagway to Emerald lake. Pretty cool and no special tour required.

 

Also saw a bear in a tree along the train from Seward to Anchorage.
