ashleysmm Posted July 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2004 Anyone having recently sailed on the Zenith from Jacksonville, I'm looking for hotel recommendations. We will be driving to Jacksonville and I'm wondering if any hotels allow you to leave your car while cruising (14days) and if they have complimentary transfers to the pier. My husband is in a wheelchair and we're considering whether to use hotel transportation or to drive to the pier and park. Any info or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Carol
sportsterjohn Posted July 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2004 try the holiday inn express near the airport. They have a special where you can keep your car there and get a shuttle to and from the pier. It is about $89 per night.

kruzkupple Posted July 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2004 We sailed on the Zenith last December, and stayed at the Wingate Inn near Jacksonville Intl. Airport. It's really nice, with large clean rooms and friendly service. They offered accommodations, breakfast, shuttle service to and from the ship, and free parking for the duration of the cruise, all for about $100 per night. And it's walking distance from Denny's, Ruby Tuesday's and Waffle House. We thought it was a great deal, as did several other Zenith cruisers who stayed there with us. Check-in time is 3 PM, and if you stay there pre-cruise like we did, check-out time is whenever your shuttle is scheduled for departure. We took the 1:00 PM shuttle, got to the pier at 1:20, and were on board and in our cabin by 2:00. For further info, call them at 904-421-5000 and ask for Bina Patel. Happy cruisin'! Rare Lois R Posted July 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2004 Hi:) Sportster, the Holiday Inn at the Airport is a FULL Holiday Inn....(not an Express) It has been there for many many years but has been fully rennovated. But you are correct, they do offer transportation to and from the port.
