MSG6567, Still tossing this around. If we were to take the bikes down early, would they just remain sitting there at the pier, or would we have to stay with them until they are loaded? Did they load them or you? Where do the bikes go??? Near the front/back? Right down at pier level I would imagine.

If you went early they would be on the pier. But there are people around and where you would stage would not be any problem with your bike.

We load our own bikes. Very easy process. We ride up our gangway, shut off the bike, then push it to our area. We are right near the forward elevators on deck 1, plenty of room, easy to manuver.

I guess I am leaning toward parking at the pier, but that is still up in the air. The weather will have the final say.

I can't believe I've been visiting Cruise Critic boards for over a year and just found this thread. My husband and I booked with ETA for the July 9th sailing on the Explorer. Unfortunately ETA had to cancel the trip because a large group from PA decided to cancel their reservations. We were so excited about this cruise. We booked more than a year in advance! We will be looking to go again in 2010 with our bike and ETA. Since my husband has limited vacation time choices we are still going on the July 9th cruise. Tami was very pleasant and took care of switching our reservation to a regular cruise with RCL

Sorry to hear about you being cancelled. I know our cruise is still far away but we are getting hyped up about it. To have it taken away all of a sudden would be a real let down. A few of us on this thread are travelling on Jan 24 2010, how about booking it too and coming with us????? :rolleyes:

Thanks for the invite to join you in Jan. Unfortunately, I am a teacher and my breaks are what determines my vacation. Have a great time!
