gadaboutgal Posted August 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Has anyone tried snorkeling in Labadee? Wondering if we should take our gear.
Host Star Posted August 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2006 what are you other ports?.. snorkeling at labadee was poor but perhaps there is some good snorkeling at your other ports
islandersx4 Posted August 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Yes, take your own gear, snorkeling in Labadee was not great, once off the ship, walk to the left, fewer people. As the other poster noted, check out your other ports. we will always take our own gear in the future. Have Fun:D
golfer1966 Posted August 29, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2006 I agree with Islander....take your gear, but I am sure one of your other ports will have better snorkeling. Where are you going?
gadaboutgal Posted August 30, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted August 30, 2006 Thanks all for your responses. We are also going to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I know that diving is good in those ports; but was hoping there was something more than beach to do in Labadee. If you know of good snorkeling spots in Cozumel, also, I would like to know. stingraynz Posted September 3, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I thought the snorkelling at Labadee was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much after diving the days prior in GC and Coz. It wasn't bad. We went at the big main beach, on the other side of Labadee from where the ship tenders. Snorkel along the reef where the waves are breaking it looks far out but it stays shallow. In fact it gets very shallow - that's why the waves are breaking. ;) There is not tons of fish, but a few good ones. there were some cool corals and critters all in and around those rocks.
