Does anyone know if one can still purchase liquor to take with you on an international trip at the duty free shop in the airport since this latest security crack down?

I don't think this restriction has been lifted yet but many of the airport shops were offering free shipping for purchases made before a flight.

Are you referring to a US airport? If so, I think that the current position is that duty free purchases are being permitted, with the goods being delivered to the aircraft's side by the shop as usual.

 

There are different rules for duty-free purchases before flights to the US - and different rules for different departure airports.

If there is any more or any new information out there. We will be disembarking in MIA in December and would usually buy duty free of some specialty items but have no idea where this whole issue stands right now.

Frankly, there's little point asking now in relation to travel in December. Who knows where we'll all be then?

 

I'm not sure what relevance duty free has, though, if you're disembarking in Miami and flying domestically within the US. You can't buy duty free at the airport if your journey is domestic.
