LostFan#1 Posted September 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2006 Can anyone confirm when the Island Explorer will stop running? Their website says Oct. 9, but I read one thread which said Oct. 12. We will be there Oct. 11 and would really like to take advantage of this mode of (free!) trabsportation into Acadia. Incidentally, does anyone know if and how we would pay the entrance fee to Acadia if we use the Explorer? Thanks, Debbie
CEV426 Posted September 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2006 I would go with whatever is posted on website. I did think it ran till Colombus Day, whatever date that is this yr. I am gonna to try the Explorer this year since will will be there Oct 4. Oli's trolleys, although not free was a nice tour.
judynorth Posted September 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2006 If you have a Golden Eagle or Golden Age Passport you should be able to get in free. The fee to get in is only $5 without the pass. I am not sure how it is collected when you ride the free bus. It should be covered by the fee for the paid tours such as the trolley but I can't say that for sure.
LostFan#1 Posted September 16, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted September 16, 2006 Thanks, everyone. I have contacted the Island Explorer website, and they are not running after Oct. 9. Drat! Debbie
