BarbMatt Posted September 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2006 Hi We are planning to go to EZE from Nice. Actually we are docking in Villefranche. This is the plan: Villefranche to Nice Nice to Eze Eze to Monaco Here's my question? Once I get to Eze train station, what do I need to do ? Is there some bus that I need to take to get to the top of Eze? How much does this cost? How often does this bus run? Most importantly, please provide walking directions to where I need to go to get to the upper part of EZE. THanks : )

Rare Hlitner Posted September 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2006 When you get to the Eze train station you will be on the coast below the city. There is a windy road (about 3 miles long) that goes from near the bus stop up the hill to the village. When you walk out of the tiny train station (its like a tiny whistle stop with no employees) there is a bus stop right on the road which has the bus schedule posted. During the morning there is usually a bus about every 45 min (this can vary)..but there is a gap in service during lunch time. There is also a cafe across the road where you can grab some coffee, snack, etc while you are waiting, or you could ask them to call you a taxi. The bus drops you right at the entrance to the village of Eze and than you need to use your feet in the village (its pretty much pedestrian-only). Eze is a pretty small village and you can't get too lost. You should wear comfy shoes since you will be walking up and down and the old walkways can be somewhat uneven. RichYak Posted September 11, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2006 You might want to look into taking the bus that runs directly from Nice to Eze village. I believe that same bus also continues on to Monaco. I think that will save you quite a bit of time versus transferring from train to bus at Eze train station. Then you can take the train from Monte Carlo back to Villefranche.
corkpopr Posted September 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2006 about 50 yards from the villefranc train station is a bus stop that goes straight up to Eze. We spent the afternoon up there and had lunch at Cheve D'Or. what a view, lunch was expensive (660 euros for 6)
