CindyLouCrested Posted December 6, 2009 #1276 Share Posted December 6, 2009 Still having trouble finding something for Jan. 9th. Bid of $110 on Priceline rejected. We are arriving around 4:30 PM and sailing the next day, just looking for a good location and a clean hotel. We are sailing from the Pan Am Pier. Any suggestions? Thanks, Thelma
Jett456 Posted December 6, 2009 #1277 Share Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) Try starting over and bidding 3* star lower. Marriott Miramar came in at 70.00 for me and my cousin got it for 50. Actually that is the only Marriott that has availablity for that date. Edited December 6, 2009 by Jett456

Gordonzoo Posted December 16, 2009 #1279 Share Posted December 16, 2009 Just to help anyone out trying to get a room during spring break. March 6 2010 : I Just bid on Priceline for a one night stay pre-cruise for resort $145 and was rejected. Finally was accepted for $150 on March 6th Marriott Stellaris resort bidding 4 star. I'm bidding for my son for his cruise as were going a few weeks earlier and have been slowly bidding higher each day. Feb 21 to 22 2010 : I was able to get Intercontential for 2 nights $93/night for our post cruise. Must be slower at that time. However I bid on this a couple months ago. Good luck. JLind Posted December 31, 2009 #1287 Share Posted December 31, 2009 I bid on Priceline: "San Juan, Resort, $110", and I got Caribe Hilton for our two nights pre-cruise, 2/25/2010, and 2/26/2010. Was hoping for "Marriott San Juan Resort & Stellaris Casino"... Maybe if I'd studied more on BiddingForFun.com or on BetterBidding.com I'd have figured out a way to get that specific hotel. Reading the reviews of Caribe Hilton on the TripAdvisor.com - Caribe Hilton is rated #10 of 43 San Juan hotels, and the most recent reviews are kind of awful. I'm counting on the fact that we are really not going to stay on the resort property so much- only one full day in PR, and we'll likely try to run around and experience the island/culture. We'll plan to eat in OSJ and not in the hotel, it'll be fine... hrumpf.
EmmasNana Posted January 2, 2010 #1288 Share Posted January 2, 2010 I got Marriott San Juan Resort & Stellaris Casino for $80 2 days pre cruise 9/10-9/12. Taxes and fees for 2 days is $25.75I was hoping to get Sheraton in OSJ. I bid 3.5 stars on priceline. Will I need to take a taxi to get to OSJ from this location and if so any idea what it would cost?
Embracedbylife Posted January 4, 2010 #1289 Share Posted January 4, 2010 Just got Caribe Hilton for $100 for 2/28 and for $95/night for 3/7 and 3/8. I was hoping for marriott stellaris but no hit on it. heard mixed reveiws about Caribe Hilton, crossing fingers! I did my bidding on resort in San Juan and then expanded to add another town that did not have resorts to get another bid with just resorts and they locked in...so I hope it's a good place!! jstrack Posted January 5, 2010 #1290 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Friday night, February 26, 2010, Priceline, Caribe Hilton, $90 Saturday night, March 6, 2010, Hotwire, Sheraton Old Down, $107 Additional taxes were about $15-$18, forgot the exact amounts Reservations were made on January 4th This is the way to go if you are flexible on where you want to stay, but want to stay in a place a bit nicer or want to pay about 50% to 60% of typical price. miss meow Posted January 6, 2010 #1291 Share Posted January 6, 2010 I won Intercontinental for pre-cruise - 4/8 - 4/11/10, $110 night plus taxes.... and Sheraton Old San Juan post cruise, 4/18 for $85 night plus taxes. Was the first time I had used Priceline, probably should have starting my bidding out a little less. Oh well, still happy with the results. sldcruiser Posted January 6, 2010 #1293 Share Posted January 6, 2010 I used hotwire because I needed 2 beds for 4 people and priceline only guarantees double occupancy. I got a 4* resort for $143 on June 19 precruise. It ended up being the Intercontinental which I've heard good things about. Using betterbidding.com was very helpful - I'd highly recommend it! TortieGal Posted January 16, 2010 #1296 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Well, our room post cruise is taken care of...pre-cruise seems like it might be a little challenging! Based on what I had read, I had a feeling we could get Sheraton Old San Juan for $70. However, I started out with San Juan, 3.5 stars and $65. That was rejected so I added Cabo Rojo and upped to $70. Bid accepted. Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $70.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $70.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $15.15 (USD) Total Room Cost: $85.15 (USD)

brickhousesm Posted January 21, 2010 #1298 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Hi, I would like to get a resort in San Juan for 4 people. Do they check to see how many people actually go into the room? Can anyone tell me a way around this or do I have to book 2 rooms? Thanks.
Jett456 Posted January 21, 2010 #1299 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Make sure the resort's rooms have double beds. PL can't guarantee that but if you call the resort right away and request 2 double beds you should be ok. I've never had a problem.
