fridaythe13th Posted November 14, 2009 #1251 Share Posted November 14, 2009 Select resorts only, there are 4 possibilities, the Marriott, Intercontinental, Caribe Hilton, and the El San Juan. If your bid is not accepted you can bid again and add any zone except Rio-Grande-Humacao because that is the only other zone that Priceline has resorts in. (Rio Mar and El Conquistador) I still have a few more posts to read but I looked on priceline for resorts listed in SJ. One comes up in the Ponce area so I am hesitant to do a rebid for Ponce thinking I will get a resort that's far away. Do you know if this is the case? fridaythe13th Posted November 14, 2009 #1252 Share Posted November 14, 2009 I'm also researching post-cruise at Sheraton OSJ. Hotwire has a 3* (which looks like the Sheraton) for $92 for 2/14-17. Is that a good price? For pre-cruise I bid resort up to $91 and was declined. As my above post says I'm not sure if I should bid Ponce. The Sheraton is a 3* on Hotwire so if the icons show casino and tennis (but no reference to a beach) then that's the Sheraton. I think $92 is a very good price though you could try bidding for it (as a 3 1/2*) on Priceline in the low $80's.
sailorwife Posted November 14, 2009 #1254 Share Posted November 14, 2009 So is the Sheraton OSJ 3 star? What ammenities did it show? Also how did you like the hotel, obviously you must of liked it because you are staying there again but anything you didn't like? Thanks. on Hotwire it is 3 star and priceline it is 3 1/2 star it also says Tennis close by, look up the Hotels you like write downthw ammenties then you check out Hotwire or Priceline, Good Luck Sue, you could also go to Rio Grande 4 Star Resort and maybe get the Rio Mar when we are staying Joan:)
Jett456 Posted November 15, 2009 #1255 Share Posted November 15, 2009 The Marriott Courtyard is a 3* on Priceline, Sheraton is 3.5 *. Start the bidding @ $50.00 if you are doing the 3* for the Marriott. I forgot to change the bid and wound up paying 70.00 which was my limit when I was trying for the Sheraton. Don't get me wrong, I am happy because the Marriott's rate is much higher but my cousin bid after me and got the Marriott for $50.
NCMtnBoys Posted November 15, 2009 #1256 Share Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) First bid of $84 for a 4* accepted, upgraded and awarded the Marriott San Juan Resort and Stellaris Casino. I was shocked that I got ANYTHING, this far out, as our date of stay is Oct 9, 2010, pre-cruise for one night. Today was actually the first day the calendar would allow a bid this far out, and I expected outright rejection from Priceline. I know the best rates are usually had within a few weeks of the date of stay. I had seen someone else had gotten the Conrad for $83 so I thought I'd get that. Our cruise will be originating/departing from the Pan American Pier (RCCL), so this is in great proximity to there. I got two rooms at that hotel for $100 and $110 (for 12/5/09, one night pre-cruise on AOS) and was thrilled. Way to go!
cruisingforsix Posted November 20, 2009 #1258 Share Posted November 20, 2009 We originally had booked a room at marriott stellaris but decide we did not want to spend the money or use our points . so we bid on priceline and ended up with the marriott court yard for 120. Ithink we overpaid , but we are only there one night and maybe with husband platinum status at marriott we will at least get an upgrade. It seems to be pretty close to the ship terminal. A little tip for next time: If you're never sure what to bid, always check www.betterbidding.com prior to bidding to find out what other people are bidding and whether those bids are being accepted or rejected. This will help to prevent you from overbidding and is a great resource.

cruzin23 Posted November 24, 2009 #1262 Share Posted November 24, 2009 Has anybody had any luck on Priceline or Hotwire for Saturday January 9, 2010? We are sailing on Caribbean Princess and have bid up to $105 for a resort, hoping to get the Caribe Hilton, with no luck. I've also noticed some people are getting the Caribe Hilton when only bidding a 3*. Is the Caribe now considered a 3* or is it still a resort? Thanks for the help! CindyLouCrested Posted November 25, 2009 #1266 Share Posted November 25, 2009 I have never used Hotwire. Are you actually able to bid like you do on Priceline? I only see one set price for 3*. Thanks, Thelma

Thanks, Thelma No, the price you see on Hotwire is the price you get. What I did to get the Sheraton Old Town San Juan was to determine which one it was on Hotwire by looking at ammenities and then bid on Priceline on the chance I could get it lower. This time it didn't work and I finally accepted the price on Hotwire.
NHtraveler603 Posted November 25, 2009 #1269 Share Posted November 25, 2009 Just bid $90 resort for San Juan and won the Caribe Hilton. We're staying there 2/27/10. Hey we are on that same cruise and we are flying in on Friday night so we'll have 2 nights pre-cruise. I've been bidding for literally months now, and finally got a hit on Priceline for the Marriott Stellaris for $130/night. Give it a try and good luck and see you on the ship! I was thinking about raising the price to around $130 anyway so I'm just gonna go ahead and do that now. I am getting too anxious that we're not gonna get a hotel! Thanks again! CindyLouCrested Posted November 28, 2009 #1272 Share Posted November 28, 2009 I just got Caribe Hilton on Priceline for $95 for Jan. 17th. CindyLouCrested Posted December 1, 2009 #1274 Share Posted December 1, 2009 I bid resort and got the Caribe for $95. However it is a Sunday night, so I think it is easier to get a room. I am still trying for Jan. 9th, will try to bid resort this time and see what happens. I have been rejected for $95 for 3 star.
fridaythe13th Posted December 1, 2009 #1275 Share Posted December 1, 2009 Caribe is a resort as far as Priceline but I bid a 3* as I didn't care where we ended up and got Caribe so you can be upgraded but I don't know why that happens.:D
